Season opener: Chaos host the Texas Red Wolves on Nightmare on Hoops Street

The Chaos have a devil on the logo. A Halloween-themed season opener was always going to be theirs.
On Sunday, October 18, CTX Chaos host the Texas Red Wolves at Camp Triumph in Copperas Cove to open the regular season. Opening night doubles as Nightmare on Hoops Street, the first theme night of the year. Tip-off is 4:00 PM. Come in costume, bring the kids, and plan to be loud.

Where the Chaos stand
The Chaos closed the preseason with a 102–86 win over Fort Hood on October 3, a Pink Out night for Breast Cancer Awareness. It showed they can take a punch: they trailed for most of the first half, carried a two-point lead into the break, then pulled away behind Savien Cromity's 22 points and Canaan "Hustle Man" Gardner's defense.
The challenge now is turning the second-half version of the Chaos into the team that takes the floor at the opening tip.

Scouting the Red Wolves
The Texas Red Wolves aren't new to this. The name has been on ABA schedules in Texas since at least the 2015–16 season, and a team that knows the league knows how to make a home opener uncomfortable. Expect them to test whether the Chaos can start faster than they did against Fort Hood.
The Chaos counter with the two players who closed out Fort Hood: Savien Cromity, Offensive Player of the Game with 22 points, and Canaan "Hustle Man" Gardner, Defensive Player of the Game.
This is also the first of two meetings. The Red Wolves come back to Camp Triumph on November 21, and whatever happens on the 18th sets the tone for the rematch. A Texas team visiting a Texas gym twice in five weeks has the makings of a rivalry.

Three things to watch
1. The first five minutes. The Chaos chased Fort Hood for most of the first half. A cleaner start on opening night puts the Red Wolves in chase mode instead.
2. Savien Cromity. Coming off 22 points, he's the first name on any scouting report. Watch how he finds his shots when the defense is built to stop him.
3. The bench. Twelve players means fresh legs late. The second half against Fort Hood showed what this team looks like when the energy rises, and depth is what keeps it there.
What's happening in the stands
Nightmare on Hoops Street is the Halloween theme night, and it doubles as opening night. Costumes are encouraged for fans of every age, so bring the kids and come dressed for it.
Get there early and settle in before tip-off. The first home game of the season only happens once.
