What we collect
Short version: enough to sell you a ticket and to know which post you saw. Nothing is sold, and nothing goes to an advertising network.
Cookies
Two, both set by this site and readable only by this site. Neither can be read by any other website, and neither is shared with anyone.
- A visitor id. A random number that identifies your browser so we can tell one visit from another. It is not derived from your name, your email, your device or your IP address, and on its own it identifies nobody. Kept for 180 days.
- The last link you arrived on. If you reached us from a post, an advert, an email or a QR code on a flyer, we record which one — the campaign name, not anything about you. This is how we know whether our marketing is worth doing. Kept for 90 days.
We do not use Google Analytics, and there are no advertising or social media tracking pixels on this site. We do not track you across other websites, because we have no way to.
Counting visits
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count how many people visit each page. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. It records the page you looked at, the site you came from, your country and city, and your browser and device type — never your name, your email or your IP address.
To tell one visit from another it makes a short-lived code from your request, which is discarded within 24 hours. It cannot be used to recognise you later or on any other site. Pages that carry anything private — your ticket, and the page you land on after paying — are left out of it entirely, so a ticket link is never sent anywhere.
When you buy a ticket
Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us — we never see or store a card number. If you bid in an auction, Stripe also stores your card for later so the winning bid can be charged when the auction closes; we keep only Stripe’s reference to it, never the card itself, and nothing is charged unless you win. We keep your name, your email address, what you bought and the marketing link above, because that is the record of the sale. Your ticket is emailed to you through Resend.
When you fill in a form
Contact, tryouts, group tickets and partnership enquiries are stored so we can reply to them. The tryouts form asks for a date of birth, because eligibility depends on it.
Who else is involved
The site runs on Vercel, the database is hosted by Neon, payments go through Stripe and email is sent by Resend. They process this data on our behalf in order to run the site. Nobody else receives it, and we do not sell it.
Getting your data removed
Email info@ctxchaos.com and we will delete what we can. Records of completed ticket sales are kept as financial records. You can clear the two cookies above at any time in your browser settings; nothing on this site stops working if you do.
